Objective: Communicating that South African liqueur Amarula had become the sponsor of the 1st Elephant Parade in Brazil. The priority location was Sao Paulo.

Opportunities: Connecting Amarula do Brasil with a cultural and social-environmental responsibility project, thus highlighting the brand’s purpose of protecting the elephants, a pillar that has been greatly disseminated around the world, but not yet widely communicated locally.

Possibility of becoming a strong platform of communication with the brand’s different publics, on-trade and off-trade, end consumers, influencers, among others.

Strategies: Working with Amarula’s history and main icon, the elephant, in a cool, artistic way.

Developing proprietary actions in São Paulo to expand the brand’s leading role as a sponsor.

Action and Influencers

Results

  • 10 elephants created as seen by young artists, based on the brand’s story.
  • 18 renowned personalities, from many different areas and with a strong connection with the young public customized, auctioned miniature elephants, and engaged with the cause. Among them, Cesar Cielo, Miá Melo, Rafael Cortez, Mari Moon, Janaína Rueda, Maria Casadevall, and others.
  • Event in SP with the Live Painting of an Elephant at the Urban Arts store in Oscar Freire St., SP.
  • On-trade actions: elephants brought from Santa Catarina visited the partner bars in São Paulo, which created a special menu with Amarula drinks during the exhibit.
  • Elephant Parade’s official auction reverting to the local animal protection cause, in line with the international cause.
  • The different activations generated stories to many editorial lines, such as business; marketing and advertising; social; varieties; gastronomy; behavior; etc.
  • More than 80 spontaneous articles and R$ 1 million in column inches.
    7 million people between the ages of 25 and 34 impacted on the internet in 2 months.
  • 384 thousand interactions (including likes, shares e comments).
  • 90% of the people impacted were from outside of Santa Catarina, city that hosted the event.
